First Sail

First Sail is a national program of US Sailing sponsored by area boat clubs with the purpose of introducing the fun and excitement of sailing to all. The program is run about every two to three weeks on a Saturday afternoon and consists of a two cruise for groups of up to four per boat. As demand dictates multiple boats may sail each designated Saturday. It's a great opportunity to find out if sailing is something you!

Sea Scouts

LSYC hosts a Sea Scouts "ship" in this branch of Scouting centered around the water. The program is meant for all teens and builds the member's knowledge of the water, sailing and all things nautical. The ship meets throughout the year on a monthly basis with more meetings during the season when members meet to learn or improve their maritine skills through the active sailing of the troop's vessel -- a 34' Hunter.
