LSYC Sea Scouts

What:

Sea Scouting is a program of the Venturing Division of the Boy Scouts of America open to any male or female young adult between the ages of 14 to 21

Who:

Ship #289 is hosted by the LSYC. The ship meets at the LSYC club house on the first Monday of the month, at 7:00PM. The ship goes sailing on 27 foot Ericson - RANDOM docked at LSYC. We also sail on small day-sailors, and do camping and skiing trips in the off-season. The ship #289 has been awarded a “Quality Unit” ranking for several years.

Why:

The purpose of this organization is not only to promote boating safety and sailing skills, but also to nurture the citizenship of the youth by advancing respect, accountability, teamwork, and other traits essential on the water and in demand on land in everyday life.
